Matthew Rose
Course Leader

Matthew Rose studied at the Curtis Institute of Music before becoming a member of the Young Artist Programme at ROH. In 2006 he made an acclaimed debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Bottom (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), for which he received the John Christie Award, and he has since sung at opera houses throughout the world.

Ian Rosenblatt OBE
Course Supporter

Ian is a supporter of charitable causes, notably in the field of classical music. He is the founder of Rosenblatt Recitals. In 2013 he launched the Branscombe Festival in Devon, is a trustee of the Susan Chilcott Scholarship Fund for young singers. He also supports a number of other musical causes and a variety of charities and is the owner of Les Aldrich Music Shop in Muswell Hill, one of the oldest music shops in London.

Following her debut with the Canadian Opera Company as Micaela in Carmen, this Canadian-born soprano joined both the New York City and San Francisco Operas. She has also sung with opera companies throughout North America and Europe.

Giulio Zappa
Vocal Coach

Giulio Zappa was born in Monza in 1971. He studied under the guide of Oleg Marshev, finishing his piano degree with honours at the Conservatory of Novara. At the same time he graduated with honours in Foreign languages and literatures at the Statale University of Milan, with a dissertation upon Russian opera.
