After the great success of Scuola di belcanto last year in Italy, it is with great joy that we can announce that it will happen again in 2018, from August 5th-25th in Urbania, Italy.
The courses incorporates the learning of Italian language, immersed in a traditional Italian setting, with the exploration of Italian bel canto singing technique and Italian operatic repertoire from Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Händel, Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini etc to the present day.
The course will be three weeks, the first part dedicated to true Italian (bel canto) singing technique leading through to performances at the end of the course which will be staged and performed with leading industry professionals.
It is with great pleasure that Joan Patenaude Yarnell (voice teacher Manhattan School of Music), David Syrus (former Head of Music The Royal Opera), Louisa Muller (director, Metropolitan Opera) and Eric Melear (conductor/pianist Vienna State Opera) will return to teach and will be joined by Giulio Zappa (Rossini Opera Festival, Glyndebourne) and Marco Canepa (diction coach, Royal Opera, Glyndebourne).
The Course takes place in the beautiful and ancient town of Urbania, an hour inland from Pesaro. Participants will receive accommodation and Italian classes, voice lessons, musical, dramatic and language coachings, and much more.
After his amazing support last year, it is exceedingly wonderful to have the generous support of Ian Rosenblatt, without whom the course could not happen.
